Questioning My Purpose
Wrapped in the warmth of blankets,
with sunlight barely gracing the world with it's subtle peek,
birds already out in search of their promised share of rizq,
yet candidly some ppl (like me oho)
still think of countless excuses to stay loyal to their beds,
"Whats the point of another day? Am I about to repeat the same cycle all over again?"
and well, once again, tuck themselves to bed, all snug.
So I recently picked this book out of queer interest
Curious at how our other brothers and sisters tend to find a purpose at living
without a firm belief in Islam (May Allah revert them, Amin)
and undeniably, lead better lives than most of the muslims nowadays
who are simply just called 'penunggang agama'
The people described in this book (folks in Okinawa) are
MashaAllah, its as if the sunnah of our prophet was in their blood
without them realizing at all!
Some of their routines include the implementation of 'hara hachi bu'
which basically promotes a healthy habit of eating until youre 80% full,
somewhat close to the prophet's sunnah of 'eat when youre hungry, and stop before you're satiated'
Second is their principle of togetherness tied in a simple knot called 'moai'
which propagates the need of benefiting others in a community
Again, sth that connects to our 'hablum minAllah wa hablum minannas'*
*prioritizing our relationship with Allah & the ummah
And they take these stances vERY seriously!
To the point of making it their sole purpose of waking up to another day
They believe that having their own personal ikigai (a reason for living),
is the key to unlock the secret of living a long, meaningful and joyous life.
Sure, you might argue,
Geez sis, death is sth only Allah knows when and how, remember?
Article no.6 of our Deen ; Belief in the Qada' and Qadr? Hellooo??
Eep. Ofc thats right!
But don't you see the bigger picture?
Both sides are missing something so dear en route to achieving eternal success.
We lack a firm grasp of faith as we don't really walk the talk
And them, the Nur of Allah, His taufiq and hidayah
I always think, "Kalaulah Islam sampai kt Jepun dr dulu lagi,"
*mind blown due to overreacting cells in charge of my imagination*
Wallahu 'Alam
Then again, His plans are always the best
and then again #2, siapa kata Melayu kerja dia melayu saja like a dying plant?
WAKE UP!
and thank Him for another day to upgrade ourselves gradually,
be it with tumbling baby steps,
aand ofc, the deen as our way & purpose of life.
