Mummy is Pregnant!.... You of course!
Where do babies come from?..... You've asked me that question long-long time ago, whilst at two of age. Remember it or not, being me.... i've explained to you in full, with real photograph, diagrams..... and such. Well this is your journey of life... pre conception, in-utero, 3 labor phases, the breast feeding trauma, etc..... the part which you cannot describe... and yet very important, crucial nurturing episode that can transform you to beautiful muslimah.
Every parents will remember the sweet moments of seeing the double pink line on the pregnancy test. At first, mummy bought the pregnancy test just for fun, with no delayed period (the monthly bloody period!), mommy did the test at night. When i look at it after 3 minutes... nothing! Only one vivid pink line... which means the test went on well but no pregnancy detected. Well!.. being new at this 'arena' (making babies is not easy .. you know!).... no sigh.... belum ada rezeki lagi!... In the morning, mommy relate the story to Bapak... and suddenly he asked for the test piece. I asked him to look for it in the rubbish bin. He said "Awak dah tengok betul2 ke?..." and I said " Kenapa? dah la... tak pe, tak de rezeki lagi. Buang je la...", then he said, "Cuba tengok betul2 ada line halus sebelah yang terang ni.. maksud dia apa?...", sheepishly smiling, I took the test and had a second LOOK!... Masyallah!... truly, it is POSITIVE! Alhamdulillah. We hugged each other, feeling happy and grateful to ALLAH.
We decided to keep it as a secret... since it still few weeks old, about 3 weeks! No telling Wan + Atuk Hussin or Nyai + Atuk Hamzah. SECRET!... Malay people said that if a couple is pregnant within the first 6 months of their wedding, it is called "Bunting Pelamin"... malu pulak kalau orang sebut macam tu!
Being pregnant, normally you'll missed "the monthly bloody stuff" called period! After seeing me praying all day in day out! Nyai had sensed it!... That we are having you in my womb! When we tell her that, she did not smile, nor hug me, nothing, she just say, "baru lagi tu, jaga elok2, Hussaini jaga perangai elok2!", Oh man!.... how cold...... I am here standing with burning delight!... It's ok, I guess.... your Nyai is not used to tender and loving touch like we as a family do, full of hugs and kisses, cute gestures and such!...
One day, Wan and Atuk Hussin came to visit... when we are alone in the bedroom, mummy with a big grin, showed the pregnancy test to her, she then said, "Kenapa, apa benda ni?"... then I said "Tak pernah tengok ke?".. "Idak le.. ngape?"... "We both laughed, and I explained that with the double pink line... Insyaallah, she'll be craddling bundle of joy in seven months time! She smiled."Alhamdulillah!" she said hugging me.
The following week, we (Mommy & Bapak) went to Klinik Segara at MNI Twins (now known as Etiqa Towers) to confirm the pregnancy. This time the Double Pink line came out at once... he then refered us to Dr. Christina Tai OBGYN at SJMC. After obtaining the GL, we went for the first check up few days later. Waiting at the OBGYN clinic was dreadfull, after about 2 hours we're called in. Since this is my first pregnancy.... everything is new, from the checkups, followups, the vitamins and my.... very easy to get MC (Medical Cert.) Cuti la tu....
Dr. mentioned that the pregnancy is fine, so life can resume as usual, ..... Mummy eat all the good stuff with a good meaning that every good stuff goes to the cute baby growing inside! We called you "Ju-Ju", meaning junior! I had no "morning sickness"... yang muntah2 waktu pagi tu... macam dalam drama...! I am ok all along. Alhamdulillah!
